In the world of professional photography, a lens's optical performance is only as reliable as its precision mechanical housing. With image sensors now exceeding 100MP, the tolerance for optical axis misalignment has effectively disappeared. At Zhuoguan Metal, we deliver the structural backbone for high-end cinematography and photography equipment through advanced precision machining, ensuring every component meets optical-grade standards.
We specialize in four critical components: lens barrels and internal cams with extreme concentricity (±0.003mm); durable bayonet mounts made from stainless steel 316 or brass, hardened to HRC 40–45 for thousands of mating cycles; lightweight yet rigid gimbal arms crafted from magnesium-lithium alloy or 7075-T6 aluminum; and aperture iris mechanisms featuring ultra-thin blades produced via precision stamping and chemical etching, enhanced with zero-friction coatings for high-cycle fatigue resistance.
To address thermal stability challenges across extreme environments—from arctic cold to desert heat—we select alloys with coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE) matched to optical glass and apply stress-relieving heat treatments to aluminum parts to prevent long-term warping. In one technical case study, we eliminated internal lens flare for a cinematography client by combining CNC-machined micro-threading (V-grooves at 0.1mm pitch) with specialized Deep Black Type II anodizing, dramatically improving image contrast ratio and solving a persistent industry issue.
